DemodexQ: I started treatment that the vet suggested and my dog got worse. i discontined his treatment and the dog got better. how do i treat demodex? A: You might have seen an inflamatory reaction as the mites were dying. sometimes they look worse for a while, then look better. i suggest you stick with the treatment your veterinarian recommended. i use a dip containing amitraz. ivermectin can also be used.

Misdiagnosis of cushingsQ: First i would like to say thank you for all of your help!!!!! this time i do not have a question but before receiving your response to my second question (you suggested an internist) i got a second opinion from another vet we used to use. he absolutely stated that based on the blood and urine tests there shows no signs of cushings at all. he believes my dog has seasonal allergies and we are trying prednisone to relieve her discomfort. if not seasonal, he thinks food or scabes (spelling) which could be accurate due to the fact that she recently spent time at a kennel. i just wanted to let people know that a second opinion is always good. i almost had to make the ultimate decision of long term debt to treat her or saying goodbye. i am glad that i spent another $100 to not have to make that decision. A: Your very welcome. glad to be of some help to you. pass your comments etc on to 1800petmeds brass.
