Loss of badder control with ageQ: Hi! my mom took in a stray dog awhile ago. i would say that the dog is a collie mix, or maybe pure collie. it is about 8 years old. she is having a bladder control issue, she wets the bed. this only occurs while she is sleeping and she is very displeased that "some other dog" came in and wet on her bed while she was sleeping. she is soooo sweet and very smart. is there anything we can do please help. also if you can recommend some medication that would be great. she has arthritis and a small heart mummer. A: Have urine checked by vet for infection. if none present, then ask for drug called phenylproponolamine which can help with urine incontinence
Tablet form?Q: Is there a tablet form for flea and tick? i use frontline plus but it is a battle to get it on my dog. she runs and hides in the opposite direction as soon as she sees the package or smells the product. A: Your might want to consider using a product called sentinel. it will protect against heartworm and fleas. in addition you would use a tick repellant collar.
Shop for: tick, sentinel, frontline plus
Misdiagnosis of cushingsQ: First i would like to say thank you for all of your help!!!!! this time i do not have a question but before receiving your response to my second question (you suggested an internist) i got a second opinion from another vet we used to use. he absolutely stated that based on the blood and urine tests there shows no signs of cushings at all. he believes my dog has seasonal allergies and we are trying prednisone to relieve her discomfort. if not seasonal, he thinks food or scabes (spelling) which could be accurate due to the fact that she recently spent time at a kennel. i just wanted to let people know that a second opinion is always good. i almost had to make the ultimate decision of long term debt to treat her or saying goodbye. i am glad that i spent another $100 to not have to make that decision. A: Your very welcome. glad to be of some help to you. pass your comments etc on to 1800petmeds brass.

Eye infectionsQ: My dogs seem to both be suffering from the same thing..both of them are having what looks like an eye infection or virus of some kind..they both have red and runny eyes..what causes this and what is the treatment for it? A: Eye infections can be caused by viruses or bacteria. the treatment can vary depending on the cause of the infection. you should have the pet's eyes examined by a veterinarian.
