AccidentsQ: My 6yo pom/spitz mix has been peeing in the house quite frequently. i took her to the vet and she did not have an infection although they gave her 2wks of antbx. we were told it could be because she has not been spayed. is that a possiblilty? Side effects of deramaxQ: I have a lhasa apso who is 15 years old. he was started on deramax approximately 1 1/2 months ago for signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis. since about 1 month ago, his has lost his appetite and will not eat his dry food, which he used to love to eat. i am having a hard time getting him to eat. he will only take "mighty dog" once it is warmed slightly, and will only eat a small portion of it. he is losing weight. is loss of appetite an adverse reaction to deramax? in the meantime, i am giving him a multi-vitamin to help supplement him. do you have any suggestions to help me get him to eat his food again? i am planning to stop the medication temporarily to see if his appetite returns. thanks, louise, rn, nurse practitioner A: It is possible that this is due to the medication. i would contact your veterinarian.
